Kim Shin-woo, a South Korean footballer who made his breakthrough at Shanghai Shenhua in China's top flight, has become the first South Korean player to win the Chinese Super League title.
The 27-year-old forward impressed during his time at Shanghai Shenhua, scoring 18 goals and providing seven assists in 34 league games this season. His performances earned him the league's Golden Boot award for the best goal scorer, which is awarded to the top goal scorer in each Chinese Super League season.
Shanghai Shenhua finished the season as champions with a record 56 points, beating out rivals Jiangsu Sainty and Guangzhou Evergrande. It was a historic moment for Kim Shin-woo, who had previously played for teams such as Jeju United,Football Hub Network Suwon FC, and Changchun Yatai before joining Shanghai Shenhua last year.
